We returned from our Christmas break with our first workshop session of 2019 at Stanpit , and it was indeed a cracker. Thanks so much to the group for really going for it. It’s always very energizing and inspiring for both of us to see how complete beginners make such fresh and original artworks from very simple lino cutting. it’s such a good printmaking technique for getting quick initial results. And it was also a good excuse to finish off our supplies of Christmas cake and banana bread!
- Planning and drawing(using tracing paper is allowed!)
- Starting to cut the lino.
- This one was worked up from a photo brought in ; lots of free markmaking-lovely stuff!
- A collection of prints-colour added with chine colle (collaged coloured paper under the print.)
- A selection showing the range of approaches.
- Colour experimantation.
It’s going to be an exciting 2019 we hope, as we’re running some sessions in Burley ,(as well as continuing at Stanpit), at the village hall there; maybe getting some subject matter and visual ideas from being in such a beautiful setting there in the middle of The New Forest. We shall keep you posted…
